The Art of Exceptional Public Speaking

Being a good public speaker can make or break your career. Delivering a presentation in an exceptionally memorable and confident manner can be exhilarating and rewarding. This fun and supportive training session is comprised of two parts: An interactive group session and an individual follow-up coaching session.

Proven techniques for public speaking success are utilized along with improvisational theatre based learning activities and lots of opportunities for trial and error. You’ll learn to harness your adrenaline, organize your thoughts and messages, make full use of gestures, vocal range, facial expressions and body movement, integrate humor and make the most of your natural abilities in order to leave a positive, lasting impression.

Of course there's a better way. In fact there are dozens of things you can do as a meeting facilitator or participant to ensure that future meetings are only as long as they need to be and highly productive to boot. Think you know all there is to know about running effective meetings? Think again! Along the way you'll learn how to help build a kinder, gentler, more productive culture by better managing conflict in the workplace.

Leading in the Moment: Leadership Lessons Learned from Improv

Improvisational theater involves more than just fun and games. Many organizations have come to appreciate the leadership lessons learned from the "rules" of improvisation. In this session piloted at the Northern Illinois University School of Business with a grant from Target Corporation, participants will explore 7 rules of improvisation as they relate to characteristics of leadership in action in the world of business. This highly interactive workshop/session will also allow participants to more fully examine many of the personal traits required for effective leadership. Community organizations, schools and other work teams or organizations will also find value in this session.

Part inclusiveness exploration, part getting to know each other and a whole lot of fun, these customized teambuilding sessions will open participants to the many positive possibilities of teamwork. Enrich your team through teambuilding and experience the resulting higher levels of achievement.

Navigating Generational Differences in the Workplace

There is a difficult new challenge in the workplace, and it has nothing to do with economic downturns and all of the associated woes. It’s the very real issue of multiple generations working in the workplace at the same time. This is the first time in American history that we have had four different generations working side-by-side in the workplace – and it could very well be one of the greatest challenges facing workers and managers today. What makes each generation tick? How do you create a compelling work climate that addresses the unique needs of each group? How can you bridge differences and build productive relationships on common ground? This session will explore answers to these questions while examining the four distinct generations — the Silent Generation, the Baby Boomers, Gen X and the Millenials — working together and often colliding as their paths cross.

Diversity and Inclusiveness in the Workplace

Diversity just "is". It's a fact of nature. Inclusiveness just "is" too. It "is" a lot of work and takes careful focus and individual and organizational sensitivity. The rewards are well worth the effort. Individuals and organizations that enable each member to bring their best whole self into the workplace reap the rewards of happier, healthier, more productive employees. Everyone wants to feel they're valued and that they belong. This session will help participants better understand what inclusiveness in the workplace is and is not and how to achieve a level of inclusiveness that works for the whole organization and each individual within that organization.
